Mrs. Dillard has been the library media specialist at Banks School since August 2011.
She began her career in education after graduating from Troy University with a Bachelors in Secondary Education and Social Science in December 2007. Her first teaching assignment was at Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama teaching World History II and Alabama High School Graduation Exam Remediation (ASHGE). In August 2008, she was employed with Pike County Schools in Troy, Alabama at Pike County High School teaching World History II, U.S. History I, Psychology, and Yearbook. She ended a three year tenure at PCHS in May 2011. Mrs. Dillard began her career as the Library Media Specialist at Banks School after gradating from The University of Alabama in August 2011 with a Masters in Library and Information Services. Since then she has served two campus libraries with a total collection of around 10,000 items. She collaborates with her colleagues through Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms for professional discussions. She is a member of the Alabama Association of School Librarians. She presents one-hour and Hands On Workshops at Alabama Educational Technology Conference (AETC) at the state level. She is also a Alabama Learning Exchange (ALEX) certified trainer of excellence (A.C.E.) where she works with the ALEX team to train other educators interested in learning more about technology applications as well as become trainers in their local schools, district and even the state. She has been an A.C.E. trainer since 2011. Mrs. Dillard is currently pursuing her certification in Educational Leadership from Troy University.
